As the City of Santa Ana takes advantage of this crisis to push through development projects and the sales of city-owned land without the same level of community engagement, el Centro continues to form part of the coalition lead by THRIVE Santa Ana and Rise Up Willowick.

Patricia, the Community Lands Organizer, works closely with THRIVE Santa Ana, Tenants United Santa Ana, CRECE Co-Op, Santa Ana Active Streets, and local Acjachemen activists in the Protect Puvungna movement to mobilize Centro’s base and advance a city-wide movement to fight displacement and promote democratic community control of lands. El Centro is organizing events like the Community Lands in Community Hands forum around public land to strengthen our alliances and build consciousness around these issues.
